Sawadee

The trip was quite some time but I could still rememeber it like yesterday.
First time travelling in large big mad group. All so eager for this rock festival of the year im Bangkok. We took an afternoon flight. Well the planning for this trip was lil bad due to money constraint we had to pay slightly more for the. Aniwae thks to Suhaila’s daddy for arranging and makin this trip much easier for us. One sad thing was couldn’t get the whole bunch of us taking the same flight. Ayalo needs to travel lone.aniwae don’t really fell the pinch.
The group finally met up at the airport itself after minutes of staring these small balls(camera) lol I just wonder why is there a need to take our pics before entering thai.is it dat we r gonna do major cosmetic surgery..well certainly not in thai..
Arriving Bangkok, I really don’t know what to expect from, I mean everyone knows about the ping pong balls whizzing by and the fat sweaty

old white dudes with the beautiful young Thai girls, I mean its all true but there's a lot more to Bangkok for sure. So we straight head to the hotel with some local men picking us up. We fit into a small mini van and straight to our hotel located along the streets of the infamous Khao San.

Regardless of knowing bout its scantily ladies prowling on white dudes, Thailand is a very cultured country. It had hundreds of temples scattered everywhere. And buddism is the religion that most thais practice. So I guest atheism does not exist or maybe just a handful.

The drums had been rolling out loud in my stomach just cant take it anymore. So after settling down, we tucked into their local restaurant. We had a big meal, lots of varieties. Some mates of mine were not reluctant to eat maybe due to its hygiene thingy. Fook it, I mean u aint some filty rich that has few platinum cards in ur wallet and prefers to dine in a posh restaurant. Well u can do dat with ur soul mate. Some insisted at mc donald. I heard this myth that everyday or every hour not sure a mcdonald restaurant is being opened in this world. I mean how common it is to have the same old shit. bollocks!

Oh yess I love the sound when the local speak. Sometimes I tink they are like speaking in cipher, speaking so intensely plus the melodic tones and cant deny exootiicc too. Funny part was we were sometimes recognized as locals too. But after hearing our well versed English adding lil singlish tone then there would be speaking.U not thai ?? If Singpore is infamous for its singlish I bet the thais do have their own version..
Me: Hi may I noe where the toilet is ?
Local: Ow july go tolet
Me: err toilet sir ( trying my best to maintain the smile)
Local: Ju go tole far bery far!!
Me: ok thanks (gave up)
Local: Tanjewbeerymud
Encounter with the tuk-tuk driver
Me: Hi bring us to chang chung chak
Local: U wan lady?? Bery preetti
Me: No sir bring us to chang chung chak ..How much ??
Local: Nowan lady u want man??
Me: In my mind this guy was pain in the arse..i just wanna shop u cunt!
Local: Okiee later we go massagee okiee
Me: Okie byee ! Walked off simple as dat

Lots of patience to solve their speaking puzzle. But all credits to them on their innitiative to learn English from us so they could communicate well tourists. The hotel had arranged a tour for us. A boat trip visiting the floating market a deep ancient culture for the thais I would say. But the cocky tour guy did not told us that the floating market was only during weekend and therefore wat in hell are we doing in this boat going round! I mean we aint some retired or pensioners people, we r here for to get exploded have fun to the maxx..after the dull boat trip we went to the a gem store..It was a huge store that’s filled with lots of nature’s treasures, which some could cost a few grand. Out of nowhere this admiration for gems stones are piling up. Hmm we ll see where it leads too.
Had this wide spread of delicacies at pizza hut and after that was shopping all day.
I do consider shopping an integral part of the holiday, an eye-opener and a value-adding experience. MBK centre was so huge tried our best to cover all parts of it. Managed to grab some stuff there but my destination is still Chatuchak market.
Night we went to some weird freak show. Women in regulation bikinis and magic numbers use a certain part of their anatomy to do some really unbelievable things: popping-pong balls, pulling out yards and yards of blades tied to a string, shooting bullets which will burst balloons total freaakk!!

The first day of the festival started pretty slow with local bands giving their shot first. The crowd was pretty lame in the evening. But soon as night befalls more peeps flocking in and by then the front row was a living hell. We were with this bunch of white arsed bollocks. Some british clads, yeah they are the only ones making the loud noise enjoying all nights carrying and throwing ppl to the crowds haha din palastine was one of the victim but at e same time they started this pushing and shoving which led to this big tidal wave but in the end its all bout enjoyment. Do pity this group from indon this lil cuty lady wit big gorgeous eye behind me she s so short that she cant see nothing but just my back heh so I offered my shoulders to her lifting her up..first she was looking happy then she was reluctant after her frens whispered at her ears...niwae she s at lost not me! Hah!
I was very much looking fwd to see the king of indie Ian Brown..wearing a pink addidas track he played some classic tracks, he s got the unique touch..And damn he did inspired the Oasis back then..Classy Mr Brown.
It has been a new wave of rock n roll music and Franz Ferdinand certainly top the chart. The crowds went gaga over them tho I m not really a fan of em..Not really my taste of music but all credits for their showmanship..By then my whole body was soaking, gasping for some fresh air and saving my energy for the headliner Oasis !
Last finally it’s the Gallagher brothers and their trusty cohorts time to explode this concert. Their crew were setting up their amps, keyboards guitars and waiting for the band mates to come out. At last I m watching em performing live. I just cant believe it at one moment.

There was such a hullabaloo when the gallagher bros came out .Liam posing in the middle with his shiny tambourine. Everyone started going mad, ladies shouting jumping everything that’s impossible seems possible that moment. Heh since I was metres away I tried making eye contact with that arrogant British clad or maybe taunt him haha but I managed to get a pic of him when he was walking down passing the audience and the best thing was he posed at my digi ! The opening track explodes into threading explosive rock n roll playing fucking in the bushes and moving on to their classic hits. It really was an eccentric performance by the lads. They were merely carrying on in the tradition of their rockin' forefathers.
Call them slaves to the Beatles, even back ally copy cats of the great Brit-pop movement. Its a non-stop train of tasty, ear-pleasing rock candy, with that, add in a little bit of swaggering attitude, that’s Oasis. Watching em at Bangkok was not enuf eventually went for their concert in Sing too. Its not as great as in Bangkok..they were lil mellow and trying to finish as fast as they could..Maybe they had too much of durians that night before..
Back to in Bangkok, after doing last min shop in Chatcuchak we went straight to Muangthong Thani. chilled out at the outskirts, was really looking fwd to see Placebo. Brian having this sensational voice and their bassist being a gay performing wat else could ya expect ay. With placebo ending the festival is just complete. The fact that they performing at best always shld tell something bout their karma. Problem: thousands of sweaty tired people finding for a cabby its like at that moment of time every ones brain is all about getting a cab. Well fer us was slightly diff, my eyes caught the sight of this lorry, spontaneously I asked the locals politely if they could just take us to slightly further up where cabs could be seen. Green light! We flocked in their lorry with other white ass dudes too.
Whole trip was fookin awesome and I d be sure they ll be more lots to come in future. Fuji rock ?

Doubts

Shocked a little. Puzzled definitely. Well I do welcome comments from any angle. And the comments I ve read its more of a debate issue. Politics are never ending stories. It leads to another issue its all interlocked. And one thing definite is that evil always gain the access in politics. And the root of evil what else money. The debate on my neighboring country is very interesting and a subjective one. Well I do agree with u guys but to a certain extend. To sum it all up its not only u guys who r facing this phase. It’s a global issue. Minorities coping with the economy.

When we try to look into the future we see that globalisation will be a determining force in respect of minority issues. What most people fear in a globalizing age, where all the old boundaries are being torn down, is both getting lost and being left out. The globalisation of capital flows creates new divides. The world’s poor are forced to migrate to wherever capital takes up residence. In Asia, companies are anxious to recruit cheaper immigrant workers in order to cut their labour costs and remain competitive in world markets. We should therefore see globalisation as a tendency that results in the establishment of new ethnic and cultural communities of immigrants in the realm of Western societies (e.g. Turks in Germany),lots more where they progressively become minority.
Minority issues seem to have an implication on scientific development as well. While the United States is still a melting pot, Asia is a colourful palette of cultural diversity. While in the US everybody lives to work, in Asia we work to live. The knowledge based society needs individuals, who think and who are being creative and who are thereby able to foster development.
I am not into malaysian politics etc. So its not fair to judge without having equip with the right facts. But one thing that I would say it’s the malaysia has not yet reach it maximum level. It has lots of areas to venture in to make it a dominant powerful rich contry in south east asia.
Oh yes I do believe ethnicity remains a very salient aspect of Malaysian politics.
